give a hug with Stumbleupon
September 3, 2007 – 1:37 amDoes your site have a plethora of inbound links right now? If so, you might want to work a little social magic for those friendly folk by stumbling them.
huh? Stumbleupon.com is a social networking site that has a clever way of grouping and organizing sites that it’s members review and vote for.
So? Using the Stumbleupon tool bar one can surf around reviewing and voting for sites at will. They’ve made the entire process remarkably easy. Don’t be thick and go vote for your site over and over. It won’t work.
Of course, you should review and submit your sites or have someone (an intern) do it for you. But, what about your link partners? If you’ve been building links for well qualified traffic and also beating the PR drum - that’s public relations, not Page Rank - then stumbleupon presents a great opportunity to increase traffic to your link partners and, thus, to you.
This activity helps everyone involved with your site including you and since Stumbleupon seems to do a very good job matching sites to member interests you’ll get traffic that’s relatively qualified. Probably, at least as qualified as your link partner is to link to you site in the first place that is. Also, keep in mind that you have to signup to stumble and since this is social networking designed to provide value your best bet is to go with the flow and actually spend time finding and providing value as it relates to your site and those linking to you.
For blackhats looking to RE and exploit the Stumbleupon tool bar I can tell you that you have your work cut out for you….
Good night,
Jeremy Brooks
